As time marches on, pianos, like people, begin to exhibit
the negative effects of aging. Add to this the constant fluctuations in atmospheric
conditions, years of use or abuse, cross country moving, lack of maintenance,
etc., and eventually a major or partial overhaul is required.
Typically these pianos will be between, but not limited to,
the 70 to 120 year old range. The 1880’s to 1930’s instruments symbolized a wonderful time
in the piano manufacturing world. Careful craftsmanship of the highest quality coupled with
feats in acoustic engineering and design resulted in beautiful works of art,
both acoustically and visually.
